Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Yorkshire Web Solutions Limited (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales, company number 14893029, of 25 Norwood Drive, Sheffield, S5 7BH, United Kingdom.

By using CarSnapper you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.

1. What CarSnapper is

CarSnapper lets you photograph real vehicles and build a personal collection of digital cards from your own photographs. Photographs are identified automatically, and vehicles are given a rarity and a set of specifications.

Your collection is personal to you. CarSnapper has no social features and no public profiles.

2. Your account

CarSnapper creates an anonymous account automatically. There is no sign-up, no password and no email address.

This has an important consequence you should understand before you start. Because there is no login, your collection is tied to the app on your device. If you lose your device, uninstall the app, or clear its data, your collection cannot be recovered, by you or by us. A paid subscription can be restored on a new device. The collection cannot.

You are responsible for anything done through your account on your device.

3. Your photographs

You keep ownership of every photograph you take. We claim no ownership of your images.

You grant us a limited licence to store, process and display your photographs solely in order to run the service for you: identifying the vehicle, creating your card, and showing it back to you. We do not publish your photographs, sell them, share them with other users, or use them for advertising or for training AI models.

You must have the right to use any photograph you upload, and you agree not to upload:

  • images of people as the subject rather than incidentally;
  • images that are unlawful, obscene, hateful or harassing;
  • images you do not have the right to use, including images taken from the internet;
  • images taken by trespassing or in breach of local law.

We may remove content that breaches these terms and, where necessary, suspend access.

4. Identification is automatic, and it will sometimes be wrong

Vehicle identification, rarity and specifications are produced automatically by AI systems and public sources. They are provided for entertainment and are not guaranteed to be accurate.

In particular:

  • a vehicle may be identified incorrectly;
  • performance figures, prices and rarity are approximate. They often describe a representative version of a model rather than the exact vehicle photographed, and may be wrong;
  • rarity is our own editorial classification within the app and means nothing outside it.

Do not rely on anything in CarSnapper for purchasing, valuation, insurance, safety or any other real-world decision. If you spot a mistake, the app includes a way to submit a correction.

5. Free use and subscriptions

CarSnapper is free to download and includes a limited number of free vehicle identifications. After those are used, continued identification requires CarSnapper Pro.

What Pro provides: unlimited vehicle identifications. Nothing else is withheld from free users. Your collection, your map, challenges, levels and unlocked cosmetic items are the same either way.

Fair use. Pro is unlimited for ordinary use. We apply technical limits to prevent automated abuse and runaway costs. These are set far above any realistic personal use and are not a published allowance.

Billing. Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple or Google, not by us. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Cancelling. Manage or cancel in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals. It does not delete anything you have collected.

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. We cannot issue refunds for purchases made through their stores.

Price changes will be notified in advance in accordance with the relevant store’s rules.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use automated tools, scripts or emulators to generate identifications;
  • attempt to bypass usage limits, quotas or payment;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile or interfere with the app or our servers;
  • upload content that breaches section 3;
  • use the service unlawfully or to harm others.

We may suspend or terminate access for serious or repeated breaches.

7. Safety while spotting

Never photograph while driving. Do not trespass, obstruct traffic, or put yourself or anyone else at risk to photograph a vehicle. Follow local law, which varies by country.

You are solely responsible for your conduct while using CarSnapper.

8. Availability

We aim to keep CarSnapper working but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Identification depends on third-party AI services and an internet connection, and may be unavailable or degraded at times. We may change, suspend or discontinue features.

If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give reasonable notice and will not charge for a subscription period we cannot deliver.

9. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Subject to that, and to the extent permitted by law:

  • CarSnapper is provided “as is” for entertainment;
  • we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on identifications, specifications, rarity or valuations;
  • we are not liable for loss of your collection resulting from device loss, uninstallation or clearing app data (see section 2);
  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss;
  • our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights that these terms do not affect.

10. Ending this agreement

You may stop using CarSnapper at any time by deleting the app. To delete your data, use Settings → Delete my data before uninstalling, since an anonymous account cannot be reached afterwards.

We may end this agreement if you materially breach these terms.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and material changes will be notified in the app. Continuing to use CarSnapper after a change means you accept it.

12. Law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
